Metamora defeated Woodruff 5-0 despite holding a one-goal advantage at halftime.

In Notre Dame’s 8-0 win over Central, the Irish (18-2-1) scored all their goals in the first 15:25 of the match.
“We wanted to get on the board early and often to put the game away,” ND coach Mike Bare said.
Vince Cicciarelli (two goals), Nate Bell (two goals, one assist) and Michael Schrader (goal, assist) led the way.

When: Semifinals Tuesday; finals Friday
Field: 1 Notre Dame (17-2-1); 2 Metamora (9-7-0); 3 Woodruff (8-10-0); 4 Central (1-10-0).
Outlook: Notre Dame, the defending Class 2A state champions, is the heavy favorite here. The Irish, who have not lost to any team from Illinois this season, have allowed just four goals in their current 11-game win streak. A much-improved Woodruff side will look to avenge a 5-1 loss to Metamora in last year’s regional semifinal. The Redbirds, who have yet to face any of the teams in the field, have won three of their last four games.
