The Notre Dame boys soccer team managed to exact a measure of revenge for its school Monday.
Just four days after the ND football team lost to Quincy Notre Dame on the gridiron, the Peoria school’s soccer team returned the favor with a 6-1 victory over the visiting Raiders on the pitch.
Vince Cicciarelli led the way for the Irish (8-1-0), with three goals in the first 34 minutes of play to put PND ahead comfortably.
Kevin Whalen’s goal in the 37th minute sent PND into halftime with a 4-0 lead.
Austin Keck pulled one back for QND with a goal in the 62nd, but Cody Gilfillan countered with goals in the 65th and 68th to all but seal the nonconference victory for PND.
The Irish outshot the Raiders 22-2 on goal.
