PEORIA – Three years ago, Vince Cicciarelli had a decision to make.
A rising talent on the local youth soccer scene, the eighth-grader from St. Vincent de Paul had to choose between Dunlap and Notre Dame high schools.
Cicciarelli opted to keep things in the family by choosing to play for a Notre Dame program older brothers Matt and Nick helped build. The Irish have benefitted ever since.
The Eagles, on the other hand, haven’t been as fortunate.
Facing his would-be teammates Monday night at Notre Dame, Cicciarelli had three goals and two assists to power the Irish to a 7-0 victory.
