The following is an excerpt from the Peoria Journal Star area roundup.

Cody Gilfillan had two goals in the first half and Nate Bell had another in the second as the Notre Dame boys soccer team won 3-0 Tuesday at Richwoods.

Notre Dame (16-2-1) put 16 shots on goal. Irish goalkeeper Jon Andersh stopped all three shots by Richwoods (4-10-1) for his second shutout in as many days.

The victory gave Notre Dame at least a share of the Mid-State 6 Conference title for the 15th consecutive season.

“Before my time as a player and coach, there was a strong tradition here for soccer, and I’ve just tried to keep it going,” Notre Dame coach Mike Bare said.

Notre Dame wraps up the regular season Thursday at Morton. The Irish will face Central in the Class 2A Metamora Regional.
